Location of DP World's Operations
Dubai Ports World currently has 50 terminals running in locations all round the world. A further 11 are being developed. The Location of DP World's Operations is truly global, with container terminals throughout the Americas, Africa, Asia, Europe and Australia.
In Africa the Location of DP World’s Operations include Algeria, Djibouti, Senegal and Mozambique. When Dubai Ports World purchased Peninsula and Orient Steam Navigation Company in 2006, it acquired a number of locations in ports on US soil. However, congress was extremely unhappy about having an Arab company with access to locations on its Atlantic seaboard and in the Gulf of Mexico and pushed through legislation to prevent the move.
Dubai Ports World eventually sold all of its US interests to Global Investment Group. The Location of DP World’s Operations still includes Canada, where the company runs a container terminal in the Port of Vancouver. DP World also has terminals in South America in countries including Argentina, Venezuela, Peru and the Dominican Republic.
In Europe the Location of DP World’s Operations span the UK, France, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and Romania. In Australia, the cargo giant has holdings in a number of the major city ports including Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane Adelaide and Freemantle.
DP Ports is based in Dubai and has administrative offices there as well as in London. There are also terminals across Asia in China, India, Russia, Saudi Arabia and Turkey, to name but a few. Over the next decade, Dubai Ports World aims to double its capacity by developing projects in the Middle East, India and China.
